Victim Blaming

It’s been a horrible time, and frankly I thought I should know better by now.

I finally reported him after months of confusion and chaos, and after long consultations with various agencies. Now he (detail removed by moderator). I don’t know the reasons why (detail removed by moderator) him or if anyone else is involved.

Never mind. I’ve been on the receiving end of a slough of victim blaming and this has been primarily from immediate family and old family friends. They’ve been telling me that it’s my fault he’s (detail removed by moderator), he’s a really sweet guy, I was (detail removed by moderator). On and on.

Is this a result of my dysfunctional family of origin? Are they playing Devil’s Advocate?

I’m furious about it. These people know my situation, they know that he and his wife were great friends. None of them experienced The Other.

I don’t know what to do or who to ask. Just another revelation on this dark ride into Domestic Abuse.
