Another Attack

I was attacked by my ex partner and subsequently abused through messages for the 24 hours following the attack, this also included revenge porn. We have been estranged for well over a year and our communication is emails back and forward, nasty ones at that. I feel like he is going to try and use this against me to worm out of this latest attack. 🙁

There is no justification for attacking an ex partner, any woman, anyone.

You should submit your communications t the police so they can see, presumably his threats and general vitriole?

It’s completely unacceptable, the revenge porn and he attack, both illegal.

Are you ok? You don’t mention your own wellbeing? Are you looking after yourself.

It’s clearly time to shut down communications of any kind with him.

Please ring the police Rights away. They see this kind of manipulation all the time. You have done nothing wrong. He is the one who attacked you. Please ring them right away. There were fantastic with me and can access all sorts of help for you. Abusers are liars so don’t believe a word he says. This is a dangerous escalation. Please for your own safety ring the police x

Screen shot any evidence you can. Keep the emails and texts as evidence. Revenge porn is a criminal offence. Please report him. Hold him accountable. Perhaps he will stop when he realises he won’t get away with this kind of abuse and harassment x

I have already done this and he has been charged. I just think the relationship has been so toxic and unsavoury things have been said from both sides in the past. Although nothing excuses what he has done to me I just feel he will try and make me look bad 🙁

Oh, he will, for sure, but what does that matter? Everyone knows the police don’t charge people lightly. They will understand that he’s lashing out because his bad deeds have come back to bite him. Anyone who believes him is not someone you need in your life anyway, are they?

It’s nice to think the whole world thinks well of us, but nobody ever gets that! You know the truth, so do the people you love and trust and for most of us, that has to be enough.

Bottom line: you don’t have to be perfect to be worthy of a fair, honest deal.

Absolutely well done for reporting him. What I found helpful was thinking of a rock of truth in a choppy sea. No matter what lies he spouts, you just hang onto that rock. The sea might get rough but you know the truth. You know what really happened and you are not to blame. Please see this all the way to the conclusion. These men never ever change. Stay safe x
