      Hi,
I hope this post works with a link added.

      Glad it’s been useful.
I also sent it to my family and close friends that know my situation, I think it helped them slightly understand the reasons why a victim often puts up with this behaviour far too long.

Another poster also recommended a book called -Why Does He Do That” by Lundy Bancroft

I’ve ordered it from Ebay today.
I’ll let you know when I’ve read it and let you know what I think.
      Stay strong!! X*x

You won’t go wrong with the Lundy book, that and the Dominator (Pat Craven), based on the Freedom Programme for women to understand the tactics of the abuser through characters.

The Lundy book is incredible & I’m so glad you ordered it. It has helped me make sense of so much.

      Thanks both,

I took the plunge and emailed my boss with details of my situation.
She has no idea, so it will be a shock for her.
I explained that I can’t talk about it in person without crying, that was why I emailed her.
She briefly came into my shared office to say she has read my email and will respond shortly.
She wouldn’t obviously talk about it in front of colleagues.
Every day I’m getting a bit of me back.
I feel hopeful for the future.
      Stay strong x*x

Thanks – some of that rang bells with me.
