Legally?? Does anyone know? I don’t think I’ll ever be able to escape his abuse as I have children with him. But can I “disappear” and change my name, go somewhere else so he can’t find me? Surely I have a right to a free life from him? Any ideas?

Yes you can legally change your name by deed pole and go anywhere you want to. For me I had to stay and face the fear and deal with it because if I ran I knew I’d always be looking over my shoulder. I reported him to the police and every breach. Every circumstance is different but is it possible to stand your ground. Use the police and keep yourself private on social media etc?

Hello – this sounds a very difficult situation. You absolutely can change your name and area. Escaping them is tough in tho this digital age especially with children although that depends on their ages wishes and any court involvement. I sense your fear – I’ve run and he finds me have had to get help from police it’s been a mixed experience but overall I have found the courts and police are trying to assist. I highly recommend a non molestation order contact NCDV they help. What are you doing to look after your well-being? Keep reaching out for support and looking after you it’s really hard. When it seems too much I try and remind myself how far I have come and how brave I really am x*x
