      Hi,

How do people deal with older children (detail removed by moderator) They also are both autistic and their learnt behaviours. Not their fault but after years of seeing their dad do it to me they are now doing it and its heartbreaking along with everything else. Is there a specialist group or organisation who could help?

School are aware of the situation as are social services, and GP. I am having therapy plus seeing the local DA charity.

      Hello Wispatea,

I’m so sorry to read that you are going through this, it can be incredibly difficult and disheartening when children begin to mirror behaviour that they have witnessed from an abusive parent.

It’s great that you feel able to reach out for support with this and that those professional services are already aware.

You might also want to connect with Family Lives, who are a parenting and family support service. Their website is https://www.familylives.org.uk/. They have a webchat, helpline and email support service.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
