I’m waiting on a call today from my local council. In your experience can they help and how long did the process take? Thanks

Yes they should be able to help. You might have to make a homeless application but my local council were very helpful. You then have to bid and that takes a while but due to dv/homelessness you’ll be a higher banding.

They should be able to help, depends maybe on your specific situation, but if you have nowhere to stay they should be able to support you in declaring yourself homeless. Especially if you have children, they are required to offer you some sort of accommodation, e.g. bed & breakfast for a couple of days/weeks before finding you temporary accommodation. Once you are in there, you will have to bid for a permanent flat/house, which unfortunately can take quite some time. Good luck!
