It’s well known that I’m nervous in the car, so he is trying the car out, puts his foot down, I’m petrified. I shout, he mad at me for shouting, not sorry for scaring me.

Special occasion (detail removed by Moderator) so I will have to play nice even though I’m hurting he doesn’t care that he scared me.

He shut me down for my reaction, I’m the bad person here.

I’ve had a bad week, my (detail removed by Moderator) very poorly and I’m in tears a lot this has made coping much more challenging.

He is trying to act like nothing happened

Mine used to drive fast when he was angry – over 100mph with the kids in the car. He did it deliberately aa a punishment and control technique. I later learned that it is quite a common abusive behaviour.

Driving erratically especially fast is 100% an abusive tactic, designed to scare & control you. It shows how little he disrespects you and your kids safety. He enjoys your fear and believes he’s untouchable by police & other drivers. Not surprised sadly that he’s done it at same time as a special occasion, he’s trying to ruin that too but will blame you for reacting. Stay safe x

I wish none of you were having all of this too deal with . There is no need for any of this to be occurring. Some people have no respect for other people it’s appalling behavior 🙄. I wish for better times ahead for anyone being treated so disrespectfully. Keep safe.

Wow – I’m new here and keep reading peoples posts thinking – that’s me or that’s him!

I am terrified in his car – the worst thing he does is when he’s speeding and overtakes a car. My heart stops. He knows how terrified he makes me feel. I feel like this is it – we’re going to die.

and like you – If I react I get moaned at. He’s in control and I’m a drama queen! I hate it.
