      Had no update on counselling. Mental he’s don’t really know how to deal with me. Having bad dreams and flashbacks again. Finding it hard to stay positive and stop feeling suicidsl. I just want the pain, anxiety and regret to go away.

      Hi AshesToBeauty,

      The wait to get the help we so desperately need is awful. We are bombarded with emotions and whatnot and then on top have to be patient to wait for the help we really need then and there. Good that you posted here, the ladies on here have helped me tremendously when I’ve been at my wit’s end, so keep posting, get it out.

      Is there any way your GP might be able to push for you to get seen by some mental health professional sooner? I know the wait can be awful long, but maybe if a GP pushed? Talking with your GP about all these emotions you are feeling that come flooding to the surface again, they might be able to help you.

      A great advice I’ve received often is to call WA on their 24/7 line. I’ve always come away from talks with them feeling lighter, not always better per se but the future not as bleak as it looked before I called them.

      Sending you warm thoughts and keep posting here.

      Hi Ashestobeauty,

      It’s good you’ve posted. We hear you on this forum, we know of the abuse you have endured and the trauma it must have caused. It’s a very difficult position to be in, if you feel ‘ready’ to talk to a counsellor, but are having to wait; especially if you’ve already had to talk to the police or other services. You may have opened up the trauma but not been given the opportunity to work through it carefully over time, with the right person. I hope this opportunity comes for you soon. In the meantime, you could consider contacting some other organisations for temporary support, it may not be the long term support that you need and deserve, but it could help to keep you going when you’re feeling alone.

      Some organisations that may be helpful are;

      No Panic, for help with anxiety, on 0844 967 4848
      Supportline, for confidential emotional support, on 01708 765200
      Rape Crisis, for specialist support regarding sexual violence on 0808 802 9999

      You could also try writing down your thoughts, whatever comes in your head when you put pen to paper, it can be a helpful exercise before counselling.

      If you haven’t done so already, contact your local service to ask what support they can offer, for example you could consider a group support programme.

      Keep posting, you’re not alone,

      Lisa

      Hi AshesToBeauty, I want to send you a big hug beauty.
      When I had my nightmares I went to see my gp and she gave me sleeping pills they knocked me out beautifully, with a good nights sleep, at least 9 hours per night, the day looks a little brighter and anxiety is reduced too. Know that you do matter, we do all care about you and hold you lovingly in our arms
      I hope that you can rest and that you get some peaceful nights. 💛💞
