      Hi everyone.

Thanks HUGELY to this forum and you lovely ladies on it, I have my first (phone) session with a specialist rape counsellor today. Help has come together so quickly after I first posted about my experience before Xmas, I feel a bit scared, nervous, but I’m certain it will be helpful.

To anyone who is reluctant to ring Rape Crisis, or any other similar organisation, believe me, I feel your anxiety, but they are so kind and will believe you and will do everything they can to try and help and make you feel comfortable and safe.

Take care all, there is hope, I promise.

I’m so glad it helped. It’s going to be a tough road and it will take time to open up and build that trust but it will be worth it. I remember my first session, I couldn’t stop shaking – but they get it and were kind also.

      Xx

Well done and thank you for sharing your experience. Often it’s what we imagine will happen is way worse than reality. It’s takes guts to take that first step. Treat yourself well and be very kind to yourself. Watch out for any aftershock when sharing trauma x baby steps x
