I’ve been to a couple of appointments recently with professionals where grooming and paedophilia were mentioned. I was young though above the age of consent when I met my abuser and persisted in our so-called relationship well into adulthood.
I felt quite uncomfortable during those appointments talking about such
things so briefly and matter of factly. I have had specialist counselling but it’s so sad that even getting help is upsetting.
I’m just wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience of abuse starting at a young age.

My heart goes out to you @snowflake . Abuse of any kind is out of order. I’m sorry to hear what happened to you . Talking about issues dealing with abuse is never easy . I hope I was ok to post to you . My issue as a child was neglect. I apologise if my answer isn’t quite correct. Sending GIGANTIC BIG HUGS TO YOU. I wish you lots of luck for the future.

@Stargazing1 enormous hugs for you too.
I grew up in an abusive home then met a horrific person when I was barely an adult.
It’s really rubbish isn’t it. I’m sorry to hear that you were neglected as a child.
Now I’m in a happier situation, I have loving relationships and am doing lots of things for my mental health. Life is good now though I’m still recovering from the past.

@swanlake , bless you always. Your story is heartbreaking. I’m so truly sorry to hear what happened to you it’s horrendous. Lovely to hear things are better for you . It takes time for anyone to recover from horrendous things that have happened to us . Please be kind to yourself and please take care of yourself too . I wish you all the luck in the world . God bless you always.
