My sister knows I left because of abuse but doesn’t know many details as I find it so hard to talk about them. But it’s starting to kick me in behind as her and my brothers basically treat him like he’s gods gift. He showed up today to see the kids and it’s like he’s a long lost brother he’s away to the pub with my brothers now. I don’t understand if it was the other way round I wouldn’t be palling about if they separated from someone for any reason as that should be what family does- I shouldn’t have to tell the horrible details.

my family very much took their cue from me. I went total no contact. Blocked him on everything and although I involved the police I’m sure if they saw me interacting with him and allowing him in my life they would have carried on the same. Perhaps you need to take the lead in this. You need to go total no contact send out the right signals and make a complete split. While they see you both interacting they think it’s ok for them too, they don’t see what’s going on. It’s hard for people to understand why you would allow an abuser in your life.
