My husband and I have lived in the same place for a number of years, we both dont like it here. My family dont live too far though so that’s been okay.

He is deseparate to move away from here but I dont want to. I want to move closer to my family but he is totally against it. Where he wants to move would be much cheaper to live so that’s his excuse.

I have no clue how to deal with him anymore

      Hi Butterfly-A,

This is really controlling of him and something that’s very common for abusers. You shouldn’t have to move somewhere that you don’t want to. Moving you further away from family would isolate you and make you more dependent on him. Often women find that abuse escalates after a move like this. If you want to discuss your options, you could speak to a Women’s Aid worker through our Live Chat service, or contact your local domestic abuse service for some ongoing support.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
