How can I get my child's stuff back

My son would like some stuff back from his dad’s which he kept after I left and tryed to use it with kids by saying he can’t have it unless they go see him.
It’s been (Detail removed by moderator) now and he knows the kids won’t go and see him but he still refuses to let the kids have their stuff. My son just wants his bike and they wanted their computer. The police won’t do anything (Detail removed by moderator). My youngest child still has to go see him and she said the bike is still there sat in the house. What’s the point
