Hi, I’m new here. I’m (removed by moderator) months out of a narc abuse marriage. I have a daughter with my ex husband. He is controlling and intimidating. Lies to everyone who will listen. It’s been like this since I left him after finding out about his affair He Was having for (removed by moderator) months.
How do you cope with the manipulation and intimidation? He makes himself involved in EVERYTHNG to do with our daughter but not in a caring way it’s to intimidate and undermind me. More so in her extra curricular activity which he doesnt even pay or contribute towards.
To top it all off he’s a police officer.
I feel so alone at times that no-one truly understands the extent of narc abuse has

I can only imagine dealing with an abuser who has power. I was lucky mines was a bit of but of a numb skull ! That aside you probably need a contact order and third party to deal with him xx it’s the best way with theses men xx have you read the police super report? It’s been uncovered that many abusive police officers are ignoring DV and committing it themselves xx

Thank you, no I haven’t. I have a solicitor appt in a couple of weeks through my local domestic abuse charity.
It’s honestly frightening that these people are in positions of power.
I’m surprised he didn’t lose his job years ago when he cheated on his ex wife with a DV VICTIM he was dealing with. This is the sort of man I’m dealing with. I only found this out towards the end.

You should complain to the governing body I’d say especially with this being highlighted recently about what some of the police are doing that’s actually unlawful xx you’d think in this day and age this couldn’t happen xx

I’ve just read up on it . Thank you so much. The lady at my local domestic abuse charity was very sympathetic to the fact that’s his job. She said it goes on a lot sadly.
Thank you once again for taking the time to rely x
