      Hello all,

Its been a while since I posted anything on here because I thought I was moving on. Then, yesterday, I remembered an incident while I was lying in bed. I’m dating someone new and the memory sent tremors down my arm and led in to a panic attack. I basically ran out of the room in a seemingly out of the blue shift of mood. My question is, how do I explain to my new boyfriend what happened without seeming like a crazy person or that I think the trigger was just him having his arm around me? We’ve been dating for a while and he knows my last relationship was a bad one but none of the details. It is also the first time it has happened while we’ve been together.

In another question, I’ve booked an appointment at my local GP tomorrow because I just can’t deal with the panic attacks anymore. This is the first time I’m going to them. Does anyone have any tips? I’m not sure I can relay what happened to me to another person.

Hi there, screen shot your post and let your GP read it. Some specialist counselling should help with the panic attacks. I’ve recently started trauma counselling and it’s helping me a lot x you could also just show this post to your boyfriend and see what he thinks x
