They feel like their power has been ripped away from them.
They feel desperate and angry and humiliated. They feel restless and lost- because they need a focus ( you) to vent all their negative emotions on and to abuse so that they feel powerful and important.
What can they do with all those feelings when you don’t contact them and keep your distance? Well, they might drown their sorrows in drink, sex or look for their next victim ( if they haven’t found one already).
They can’t be alone. Having someone to abuse is like air to them. Without having someone to abuse and do their bidding, to frighten and take advantage of, they feel oppressed. Getting a reaction from their victims makes them feel powerful and free.
