Today I finally made the call the police about my ex sexually assaulting me when we were together. I had been building myself up to it for months and today I was just sat with a cuppa and for some reason I just picked up the phone and rang the police. I think it was a moment that if I had pondered on it would have passed and I would have chickened out of doing it again. I am glad I did it but I’m terrified of what is to come and what might happen. Police are coming to see me tomorrow so I guess its a sleepless night for me tonight.

Hi Kitty. My friend has a cat called Kitty. Lol! Well done you for contacting the police. It’s really a strong and wise thing to do. Even if nothing happens in terms of him being found guilty at least it is now on record for Claire’s law.

We can’t have these nasty people walking around and no one being none the wiser about how awful they are. Anyone who has any suspicions about my ex will see that he has been bailed for assaulting his wife.

      So same for your perp!

Just try to relax and turn in early tonight. What will be will be. Que sera, sera.

Hi Kitty, I can remember how panicky I felt after I reported my ex and I still feel like it now when I have to report things as I have today. But I’m reminding myself that each time I have done this it has led to greater freedom and more self belief on the other side. Try hard to congratulate yourself for doing such a brave thing xx

I think you are really brave, well done! I agree it’s good to have on record re clares law. I would like to do the same, I’d be interested in hearing your feedback after the police see you and whether they think they could progress it. I hope you get some sleep tonight, maybe afterwards it will help you to feel empowered and like you have really taken control. My ex sexually assaulted me after physical assaults and its something that still upsets me a lot. If you haven’t already, maybe see if you can access some counselling – this really helped me. (I had a specialist DV trauma counsellor through a DV service as one I saw before this didnt really get it). Sending you love x*x

Update. Two policemen came to the house and took the initial details. I am now waiting for CID to contact me. After I told them about his criminal record they said the sooner he is behind bars the better. Little did I know he already was. I have made a new post about this but thought I would update here too. He’s going to be in prison for a number of years for sex offences. AND its in the papers and all over social media. He has no scope to play the victim ever again 🙂
