My husband attacked me after I caught him cheating (detail removed by Moderator). I had a feeling that he was cheating months prior to this but I could never prove it. And he would just say it’s all in my head and make me doubt my own mind at some points.

But this time I caught him red handed and his reaction was to strangle me (detail removed by Moderator) then beat me infront of my (age removed by Moderator) year old daughter. (legal details removed by Moderator). I have been moved to a different place for my safety but I am constantly worried he will find me. Any advice on how I can deal with this mentally? As I’m really struggling with everything that’s happened and the fear of him finding us.

      Hello Coco77,

I’m so sorry to hear what you have been through, and are still going through, with your husband, it sounds so stressful to feel constantly worried about him discovering your location.

Do you have a support worker or any professional support in place at all? It could be useful to discuss some safety planning with them, for example, considering ways to secure your property or taking measures to protect yourself at home or work in case he ever shows up.

Additionally if you do feel there is a chance he knows your location, you may want to look into the possibility of an injunction to keep him away from you. A non-molestation order is an injunction that can stop an abuser from contacting you or coming to your home. You could speak to DV Assist for more information: https://www.dvassist.org.uk/

The National Stalking Helpline might also be a good resource for advice and support around this: https://www.suzylamplugh.org/Pages/Category/national-stalking-helpline

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
