Hi, I know I cannot give any legal information on here but I have a question…

Did yours turn up for mediation? A yes or no would be great as I don’t want this post taken down

I am feeling anxious about it as my disgusting husband ignores everything now (except for reminders he randomly sends me) and I just want it all over with so I can get on with ny life without feeling shackled

Mediation is not a good idea with an abuser. He will simply manipulate the situation to his advantage. Womens aid do not recommend it. I’ve read that if it’s court ordered and there has been a history of abuse then you do not have to take part. Absolutely zero direct contact is how to deal with an abuser.

      Hi Hereforhelp

I agree, there is no place for mediation where there is a perpetrator of abuse, and this should be the basis for you going forward. If this is court ordered, perhaps you could write (with reference to an organisation like Rights of Women, Coram), for advice on how to write to support your position? This would be the line to take for anyone involved in abuse.

Sorry, thats not a yes or no, but it isn’t a yes or no question in that sense, that there is more involved and a yes or no could risk your position.

Hold strong, we are here for you.

      warmest wishes

      ts
