To those who are not sure they are bring abused, take the time to assess your health and wellbeing for a moment.

Now I have come out of my abusive relationship, I noticed that during it:

      – My hair was falling out
      – I was always tired but could not sleep at night
      – My nails became thin and split all the time
      – I gained weight from comfort eating
      – I started to drink alcohol to cope
      – I could not concentrate on anything
      – I was permanently anxious/on edge
      – I burst into tears a lot
      – I stopped doing most of the things I enjoyed
      – I kept getting colds and they took a long time to get over
      – My skin was dry and in poor condition

If your health is declining that could be a sign.

Oh my goodness I suffer from most of those things too.
How are you getting on now you’ve left?

My hairdresser noticed my hair was thinning (detail removed by moderator). She said it would grow back. I am sleeping better but not quite there yet. I am now starting to lose the excess weight and have not had a drink for about 2 weeks now. Concentration is better, but not there yet. I have now recovered from my colds.

So in short, I am getting better but have some way to go yet.

I have also found out today I have elevated blood pressure, first time ever, probably from the stress. Luckily there are things that can be done about it.
