PTSD Assessment

Hi everyone,

So I have a PTSD assessment coming up, my GP is fairly certain I have it but can’t diagnose me so I’ll be seeing a psychiatrist. I was just wondering if anyone on here has gone through such an assessment and could advise me on what to expect or share their experiences, please?

I think it’s just a questionnaire which you go through and talk about what’s happening to you. I’m not sure whether or not I have a diagnosis for PTSD. A friend of mine treats it in CAMHS so knows the practitioners. I can’t be referred for treatment until what I am going through is over.

Rape Crisis also offers counselling for trauma.
