Has anyone called the National Rape Crisis Line and been able to get through? Are they helpful? Do they support you in talking through things/give advice? Ive called so many times and cant get through. I tried a local helpline and got through but they didnt say much and although it helped to say abit of what I wanted to, it felt like no one was on the end of the phone a lot of the time. :o(

I can’t remember exactly how it works. I have been getting counselling through them which is fantastic. If you are struggling to get through yourself, it may help to go through an ISVA, IDVA or Women’s Aid. Your GP should be able to fast-track you as well. There is a waiting list, but once you’re on it, they keep contact every month. Victim Support should be able to help you as well. It’s so difficult at the beginning when everything is so shocking. Press on. It takes a while for things to slot into place.
