Hi Englishgirl,

Please find a safe time to phone the helpline number at the top right hand of this page. They can talk you through all your options and help you to find somewhere safe. You can indeed go to a refuge outside of the city you live in and actually that would be encouraged in order for you to be safe and not able to be found by your abuser. If you don’t have any money you can get a travel warrant once you have been accepted in to a refuge.

Please keep safe and do not let your perpetrator know that you are thinking of leaving. The helpline can help you safety plan.
