Sex when too drunk

Husband told me in the morning that we had had sex the night before, I had been out with friends, gotten way too drunk and come home and don’t remember a thing. When he told me I was genuinely shocked and I didn’t remember at all. Gives me ick that he would take advantage and sleep with me when I was that drunk. Don’t know if I’m overreacting? Often makes comments that he might actually get sex when I go out drinking (rare, I see my friends once or twice a year) which makes me feel uncomfortable.

If you’re too drunk to remember then you were probably too drunk to consent. Without consent then it’s a sexual assault. His comments about you going out are also wrong it would make me not want to go out which is probably what he wants. Watch out for him gaslighting you and switching attention away from his behaviour to ‘you have a drinking problem’ they love to try that line. Hope you’re ok, we should be able to trust our partners not worry they’ll abuse our vulnerable state

Exactly that, it put me off drinking as I’m too scared to let my guard down now, feel like I can’t relax

And that’s what the abuser wants – you’ve now reduced or lost part of yourself & your independent life away from him because HE can’t be trusted. If you stay he’ll find other ways to chip away at your confidence and self identity more x
