Has anyone got any tips on how to stop blaming yourself? I don’t blame others for suffering abuse, but can’t stop blaming myself. On a good day I can think rationally about it, but more often than not, I can’t. How do you do it? How do you let go of that self loathing?

Any tips or advice greatly appreciated

      Hi Shaishai,

Thank you for your post. I’m sorry to hear about your situation. when someone has been treating you this way- not taking responsbilty for their behaviour it can take time to “re progam” yourself and to start putting you and your feelings first. You may need time to let go of that feeling and you deserve that time on yourself and space to heal.

You can access free online courses created by or in partnership with therapists specialising in trauma at
Bloom. These courses can be accessed in your own time and at your own pace and cover topics such as trauma, abuse and boundaries.

      take care and keep posting

I’m blaming myself @Shaishai , since the last outburst things have been calmer . I was proved wrong on something so it gets me thinking I’ve got it all wrong. I’m struggling to comprehened what’s going on in my life . I know if he found out I was on here he would get really angry . I want to cry but I’m not going to in front of him. I don’t Want to get up in a morning because I’m blaming myself because I feel like I’ve made a mountain out of a mole hill but I know when i was in that car and was being verbally abused I just wanted to get out of that car and run away. I hope you will take care and be kind to yourself and keep yourself safe . Sending hugs.
