I feel such a fool, i believed that he was so hurt and upset about the dog being put to sleep (detail removed by moderator) We have almost been back together the last few days as he is so upset about the dog i want to be there for him so he is not alone but cant help feeling uneasy about him not being fully honest about the situation.

Abusers are liars and will twist the truth to their own advantage. To manipulate the situation. It’s not just the dog. Write down all the other abuse and keep re reading your list. He’s not your responsibility and don’t let him use guilt to manipulate you. Stick to the facts of his abusive nature and history.
