It’s the day after I left. I got the keys to my new place which was a relief as I was just sitting in my car killing time.

I’m very up and down, having to leave behind my beloved dog was heartbreaking and my stuff is covered in her hair so I had a good cry at that.

I’ve moved in, made my bed and am just sitting watching TV in silence. I can relax because I know I wont be disturbed. I’m feeling sad but it’s to be expected.

One word of advice if you are thinking of leaving is make a list of things you want to do when you get your freedom, I’m adding to mine all the time!

    Goodnight everyone x

Well done. You’re doing great. You did it. You did imo the hardest thing ever.. to get off the merry go round of abuse. You’re off it now. Lots of emotions will come up that’s normal but you’re no longer in the receiving end of abuse. Please post tomorrow how u are on ur third day. This is a very helpful way of doing it. It’s also day 3 if No Contact with abuser. And day 3 if your recovery. You will go from strength to strength!

How lovely to go to sleep and wake up without having to listen to toxic words and look at a toxic face

I’m really pleased you’ve received your keys to your new house, you are doing really well, yes enjoy your time now without disturbance and possibility to do all the things you wished to do. Regain your life, your freedom.
I am very sorry about your dog, it must be heartbreaking, do cry as much as you need.
Give your feelings the space to let them out, cry when you need to, be sad, be happy, whatever comes your way and tell yourself emotions do pass, as cloud in the sky.

Did you already conceive ideas how you wish to decorate your new home?

You sound like a strong lady with a real positive spirit and good ideas to keep going.
Keep posting and take good care of yourself 💕

I’m really pleased for you and hopeful for me too. I hope I can be as strong as you. I leave tommorow. With my baby.In the guise of visiting family I will not return. This forum and speaking to the helpline is helping me to see things clearly for the first time.
