I had previously reported my ex to the police for threatening me, also emotional abuse, I have the video recordings on my phone, the arguments in front of my child, but they aren’t classing it as abuse and they are saying it sounds more like he is frustrated as he’s just wanting me to get my belongings out of his house! They are going to add to the VPD and note it on system that he done arguments in front of my child, this is not fair he is not getting punished for his behaviour

I’m sorry that you experienced this lack of validation. There is a new law recognising that children are victims in their own right of domestic abuse.
Hopefully this logged behaviour will count for something eventually.
Many moons ago someone attacked me in the street but because they were so under the influence of whatever substance it was their attack was uncoordinated and I got away without physical contact. I contacted the police and they said that no crime had been committed. Um, well, I felt alarmed and distressed, is that not assault?
People get away with disgusting behaviour and it’s so wrong, I hope that this behaviour counts against your ex at some point.
