Thank you for your replies Maddog and Escapee.

Yes my GP is aware of my situation, I’ve had much better treatment (for mental health) since being upfront with them, so that has improved.

I’m in the process of getting the notes from the MARAC so that will clear things up for me a lot I think.

One of the moderators messaged me to suggest that I make a complaint and that I could call the National Domestic Violence hotline, I might call them today.

That’s exactly how I felt to be honest.

But you do have the right to access your information and in doing so you will be informed and empowered. Which is where we need to be.

I’m glad I’ve been able to connect with people in the same situation, it really does lighten the burden knowing I’m not alone. I know that sounds very simplistic but simple is powerful.

Good luck on your journey newbeinnings xx

      Hello Newbeginnings 🙂

Yes, I believe the IDVAs role is to feedback the outcomes to the victim and to be ‘the voice of the victim’ at the meeting.

You can make a subject access request to the police for your notes.

      Good luck xx

Hi Lisa thanks for your reply 🙂

I don’t have an IDVA no, although I did at the time. It was a few years ago but the abuse has continued. I have contacted the police for the information and am in the process of applying for it. Who is the MARAC coordinator? Do they work with WA?

Thank you for your reply 🙂

You can ask for a copy of your MARAC notes and your WA notes, it could be useful in understating your situation and you can check for any factual errors etc.

Please do tell me what your support worker thinks.

Good username too- I know you’ll get yourself back xx
