      Hi,
As you’re wanting paid employment I would suggest you approach your local job centre who will run free courses on interview practice, updating your skills , CV etc and also be able to help you with job hunting.
Good luck. As the other ladies have said there are plenty of vacancies out there at the moment, I hope you find something you enjoy. xx

      Hi,
I’m thinking from a practical point of view, if you take the paid work and don’t tell him, you can save the money so you’ll have it if you decide to leave and have to furnish a place/ start again. Having money always gives you more options.

      Hi,
Having a joint mortgage will not prevent you from renting privately, I have done it.
I can relate to a lot of what you have said, I don’t want to be with him and wish I could find the courage to leave once and for all. I have previously gone to the trouble and expense of renting and furnishing a flat , only to return.
I don’t feel in a position to offer advice, but take care and good luck x

Many thanks again for all your support.
I’ve looked at Womans’ Trust. The website seems useful with videos you can watch and they offer counselling.
      xx

      Hi
      Thanks for your help.
I’ve googled IAPT NHS, it asked for my GP surgery which I put in, but my GP’s surgery isn’t coming up, but one down the road, which will be under the same NHS Trust is?
      Any suggestions? xx

      Hi,
Thank you all for your replies.
I’ll look into the IESO help.
I’ve also used private counsellors in the past, but as Eyesopening said, they can leave you more confused if they don’t fully understand emotional abuse. This is why I was wanting to go through a recognised agency for help, but have found them frustrating as after an initial telephone consultation/assessment I never hear back from them. It would be better if they would just say we can’t help you, or our waiting list is X , rather than wasting time waiting for help that isn’t going to happen.
If I make any progress I’ll let you know.
      Thanks x

      Hi,
      Thanks for your reply.
The GP is the only avenue I haven’t tried yet. As you say, I imagine the waiting list will be very long.
I’m beginning to think my only option will be to go private, just have to make sure I do some research so I get someone who specialises in this kind of abuse/problems.
      Thanks xx

I’ve previously gone as far as renting and furnishing a flat , but still haven’t left – what a waste of money and effort ! I’ve also set deadlines and they’ve come and gone, but hopefully I’ll do it soon as he won’t change, I’m still unhappy. I just wish he would be horrible ALL the time, then it would be much easier to go.

      Hi,
Thank you for the above posts, I can relate to them. I’m still stuck, and I appreciate people saying there will never be a right time. I have been waiting for the right time for years. I hope I can find the courage to leave soon as you have done x

Hi, Yes I can relate to permanantly living with that physical feeling, it becomes the norm. I dread to think of the internal damage it must be doing.x

      Hi,
So if you pay the £12 to do it online, will it be via Zoom with other people?
I would like to interact with other people, not just get an online version of the book
      Thanks x

      Hi,
Is the Freedom programme running face to face now with Covid?
Also, has anyone tried the online course, or is it just an online version of the book (I already have the book)
      Thanks x
